Are You Willing to Listen?

One of the hardest things to do is listen….go figure. Over time I had to pay attention to what listening really looks like. We spend so much time thinking about how to respond , what to say, how it’s going to come across to the other person. There are simply times where nothing needs to be said sometimes people just want to be heard and that enough for them. Sometimes they just need an ear to hear. What do you do when you feel like God isn’t hearing you? What do you do when you feel like you can’t hear from God? What I am sure about is being and waiting in a position to hear. When too many thoughts are running through my mind like a series of ocean waves can I really expect God to speak, and am I ready to hear? It’s like God saying show up for what?? There’s too much noise. Have you ever noticed in very quiet moments how thoughts or ideas show up in your mind and all of a sudden things make sense. I think it’s called clarity. It’s the ahhh haaa moment that says “wow I never thought of it that way!” The picture comes together and in someway it just makes sense. Trying not to drown out the small voice is very important because it gives you a little glimpse and encourages you to keep going. Psalm 46:10 ” Be still, and know that I am God.” A seemingly simple command, that will require patience, endurance, courage, faith and a willing ear. May your day be blessed and abundantly!!
