It’s Not all for Nothing

The feeling of doing good and not getting anywhere….sound familiar?? I’m here to tell you to keep pressing on. When down and out wondering why you can’t see progress remember this scripture. 1 Corinthians 15:58 ” Therefore, my brother and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

What I’m saying is that in the back of your mind remember who your working for. Though at times you may feel ignored or unappreciated remember that you don’t work for people, your working for God. Allow his spirit to work through you so that can touch someone else. Don’t stop the flow because when we do we create blockages that make our journey here unnecessarily difficult. So if your wondering why you should continue it’s because you’ve chosen to behave, think and feel as a vessel God can work through. Much like your heart has vessels we know that they can become blocked and when they do it creates heart damage. Our emotions about how we see situations and circumstances can add to this problem. Which leads me to why we are instructed to put on the full armor of God. This is a very deep passage that tells us or warns us as to why we need to be prepared daily. So here goes. Ephesians 6:10-18 ” Finally be strong in the Lord and his might power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” It a loaded scripture much like a loaded gun. The scripture made simple is this. The helmet guards your mind (thoughts) the breastplate guards your heart so you don’t operate from feelings, your faith shields you, and the sword is the word of God. Thoughts and emotions can run us down deep rabbit holes that seem impossible to climb out of. Keep your focus on your heavenly father and know that he has your best in mind, although many times it feels the opposite is true. We need to get to a point where we know we are not fighting people. In the beginning of the verse it states for our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but dark forces that are working through people that choose to listen to the enemy and are driven by pride, greed, insecurity and so on. That’s why it’s important to forgive and pray for our enemies. As Christ said on the cross forgive them father for they know not what they do. He understood this concept and well. So although you may feel like your on the cross; keep in check your thoughts and emotions and refuse to give the devil any hold on you because he’s got none. He didn’t die for you and he didn’t save you, he is trying to kill your mind, emotions, dreams and most importantly your faith. It’s not all for nothing!! Have a blessed day….. and refuse to sink.
